What also totally creeps me out is the brick shower wall. It is just f***ing awful. It makes the room feel cramped and dark. Glass belongs there.

I wouldn’t put glass there either, it would simply be too much cleaning for me. I haven’t read all the posts, but I don’t understand at all why someone would build such a wall practically in the middle of the bathroom, resulting in only a narrow passage to the bathtub and space for only a small washbasin, considering you also need space for towels on both sides of the sink. The bathroom is quite large though, and if you placed the shower where the bathtub is, you’d also have a longer wall for the vanity and the bathtub would have enough space where the shower is currently planned. That would also create a much more spacious feeling.

Best regards

The problem was that there were only 68 cm between the washbasin and the bathtub. That is also way too narrow. I see several disadvantages with this solution. From the beginning, I didn’t like the shower being so hidden. I also like looking at the stylish fittings when I am in the room, and I don’t think it’s nice to hide the shower like a toilet. However, I could basically live with that. But I refuse to live with that and still give up the desired size of the bathtub and/or shower because of the narrow passage. What good is a bathtub 10 cm narrower with this solution? Although, as I said, that is not an option for us.

With this solution, I get the impression that the bathroom is being blocked by the long wall even though there is only a 1-meter-wide washbasin attached to it. What am I supposed to do with such a long wall that divides the entire room? I don’t like that.

And if you have a solution that neither appeals to you in terms of room layout nor at least allows you to choose the desired dimensions for the shower tray/bathtub, why should you stick with it?

Now I at least have a bathtub in the desired size, as well as a shower tray. And I don’t have such a long wall stretched across the middle of the room that nobody needs.

And yes; of course, the left wall by the shower could be made of glass. But I wouldn’t be in the mood to clean it like crazy. I also thought the wall works well for a towel holder.

I’m not 100% satisfied with any of the solutions, but the last solution is THE best solution for us out of everything that has been there so far. And now I can only change it in minor details.

I wouldn't even think of hiding the toilet. We are talking about a room with a "closed society," and going to the toilet is part of life – according to popular belief, even for emperors and Latin teachers. P.S., what I generally notice here regarding bathroom threads: shelves for MAD / Kicker are never mentioned – does nobody read anymore while doing their business today?

Reading? That antiquated habit with paper pages in a cover and all? That’s so 80s. Seriously, despite having some affinity for digital toys, I am an absolute fan of paper-based magazines and books. For me, less MAD or Kicker, more Runners or triathlon, but basically the same thing. However, not in business, rather for relaxation in the bathtub - and I take it with me there. In the parents' bathroom I want it tidy (regarding magazines), but a selection is offered to the guest on site.

Reading? Yes, indeed. These 300 + x page turners or Foodnetwork or Fire and Food, yes, they are lying around here.
