Moreover, one should also consider the garage size, etc. Is it even possible to properly open the car doors and get from the trunk to the "wichtigen" utility room door without scratching anything if you are carrying a crate of beer? In some garages, I really doubt that. Otherwise, everything has been said here.

A house in which refraining from a connecting door would result in a detour of forty meters would, firstly, be designed so generously that one could still fit the one from inside it, and secondly, would be misplanned not just by a decimal place.

The first house is for an enemy, the second for a friend, and only the third for oneself: the connecting door would therefore be in the second for me

In my circle of friends, the intersection of people who are happy and those who have a drive-in pantry is exactly zero.

Not only the Fritzbox hangs in the adjoining room, and I consider a heating system more damaging to aromas than an occasional spray cloud of starch wafting through the air while ironing. That vacuum cleaner bags are stored next to it does not harm the pasta.

OK, I completely agree with the food storage in the utility room. I wanted to store drinks in the garage anyway, but other food items are not well placed near the heating. I had an alternative floor plan created based on my original ideas. Now I’m even more torn.
I also presented the terrain modeling in 3D. Not pretty, but I think the cut into the terrain and the slopes around it are quite good.

The point here is that builders have seen this door somewhere and thought it was good, then try to plan a house around this oracle. Without giving much thought to whether it is really necessary and if something else might suffer because of it.

And hand on heart:

Are you the one who carries several shopping bags into the house after shopping? With kids and all, of course? That almost only works in theory, with very few big exceptions.
The "through the whole house" thing is not caused by the (non-)existent door, but by the house planning itself.

Washing is done in the utility room? I give up... I also don't see a problem with the terrain gradient to have it properly planned right away. Why don't you just do without the hallway?

Yes. Do you really let that happen?

Well, my kitchen is located at the back of the house with access to the terrace. I didn’t want to place the kitchen to the left of the front door. That’s how the long path comes about.
