I spent the night thinking about the dressing area and developed the following solution without changing the room sizes. Only two narrower floor-to-ceiling windows need to be altered. See sketch... just quickly drawn over. The office and child 1 will still be swapped, and then the wall will be moved so that a niche with 1.65m is created for a desk. We never consciously paid attention to symmetry; that resulted from the new layout upstairs. I really have to disappoint you about the bathtub, there won't be one.

Why we? You are the ones suffering if it is needed for medicinal baths. A lumbago, etc., can also occur at a young 30 years. I only think of my alkaline baths. The house is probably not unsellable, but the target group and/or the price is just lower.

If it's just because of the floor plan: a bathtub would fit in the bathroom. Maybe plan it so that it can at least be retrofitted later?
Example: place the shower at the top left of the plan with only a simple partition instead of an "L-wall". To the right of it, the double washbasin would fit. On the bottom wall of the plan, both the bathtub and the toilet would fit side by side. I would visually separate the toilet a bit with a small partition wall at about half room height.

Then move the door a bit upwards in the plan so it doesn't hit the bathtub.
The right wall in the plan would remain for storage, towels, etc.
As long as the window on the right wall of the plan doesn't have to be floor-to-ceiling, many more nice possibilities would arise.
A floor-to-ceiling window might bring in a lot of light and look nice at first glance, but especially in the bathroom, I prefer a retreat that's not quite so visible. Especially right in front of the toilet.

Last Monday was the groundbreaking ceremony, and I wanted to briefly present the originally requested earthworks. The level of the finished floor top edge is now 1.30m higher than the street in the preliminary development. So later almost 1m.

A few key figures regarding the earthworks:
- approx. 330m³ topsoil removed and stored
- approx. 600m³ earth masses excavated and stored
- approx. 350m³ excavation for the ring trench collector removed and backfilled
- approx. 280m³ excavation for the actual construction pit
- approx. 160m³ earth masses reinstalled in the contracted area
- approx. 150m³ gravel installed

In total, it was 5 days of work (including the ring trench collector, laying of empty pipes and drainage) with two men.

Hopefully, one can recognize what it is going to be.

Now the shell builder can start work on the floor slab next week.

Just in time for Christmas, I wanted to give a brief update.
Construction has been "problem-free" so far. The schedule is more than fine. The move was originally planned for the first week of March. Now it will be January 22nd.
Only the bathroom installations are missing (from 10.1.), fine plaster in the bathrooms, interior doors (from 4.1), kitchen (18.1), and I still have to finish the floor upstairs between the holidays. There are also a few painting jobs left, but the major work is done.

On the other hand, I am almost finished with the electrical installation, or rather, I am already doing small things that I actually didn’t want to have finished before moving in, like connecting the cooling function of the heat pump to the KNX, installing the doorbell, printing adapters for the Unifi APs, etc. :-)

Overall, we really haven’t had any so-called construction fails yet (I’m knocking on wood right now).
We are still within budget, even though there were two air conditioning units, the kitchen got more expensive again, and we did a KNX installation. For that, I just had to spend a few additional hours on the construction site :-)

So now I wish you a Merry Christmas!
