Three friends have a direct passage from the garage to the utility room and wouldn’t give it up anymore.
Don’t build for your friends, build for yourself.
If it works out and the design doesn’t suffer any disadvantages, then build it that way. The house is planned with several components, so you just have to decide what to stick to or not.
If needed, just throw the dirty clothes there into the laundry.
If you can cycle directly into the garage, that would be practical. You just have to weigh your cycling a bit: to what extent are you at a disadvantage if you can’t do it that way? And can you even cycle past your car (in the garage, mind you)? Is there space to unload? Would the door be open? Do you have to open it first, then the front door would probably be faster, more practical, and the utility room wouldn’t be far to reach above the hallway.
And not only with an open garage, a burglary-proof door is needed as an intermediate door.
If you then pack your worn clothes along with the washed laundry, you can choose which other door you use half-naked to get upstairs,
that you don’t have to carry 40-50 m
The problem is solved with a simple door.
I would say, in this case, the problem does not exist with the right garage and house planning.
