At the moment we tend towards 1.5 stories 8.5m x 12m without a basement as the gentleman recommended, which our gut feeling agrees with. The gentleman suggested; side entrance and 2 terraces south and north, that's how he would build.

- Fingerhaus was here and positively surprised us. Price is still coming, they offered that we could do plumbing, electrical, and drywall ourselves. Unfortunately, they are inflexible, for example, they only want to go up to 8.5m wide for an extra charge (catalog house 8.25) and the basement cannot be freely designed!



Then MHM company was here, so far a strong impression and gut feeling also says wow, they seem to know what they are doing.

Offered a top house, completely adapted to our wishes and gave good tips.

Then the company Baumeister (sub Zaunmüller) got in touch. After 2 months, drafts were received by email; the price is apparently still pending. They also build heavily with pumice.



Now we have 3 offers as well as a consultation with our regional provider.

Conclusion: lots of question marks, my wife and I need to let it all sink in first.

If you basically find the floor plan proposal from the catalog suitable, I wouldn’t expect much from 25 cm more or less house width; however, the inflexibility on my part would be a negative point.

Massivhaus Mittelrhein is one of the few providers whose catalog across the board gives me the impression of well-planned designs.

The house with the long side as the gable side gives me a strange impression.

Apparently, the desire for an 8.5 m house width mentally puts some providers on the semi-detached house track, so they then pull semi-detached house floor plans out of the drawer and vary them with a fourth window side.

I find Fingerhaus too inflexible. They keep pulling their Neo out of the bag – I can't stand to see it anymore. It's not that it's bad, but this lack of creativity would be a dealbreaker for me.

The design by MHM is interesting – but with 2 kids, the staircase in the living room is not well thought out. You can't even watch TV without the kids upstairs waking up.
The company still makes the best impression on me. But they need to revise the design.

The design by Baumeister is solid. It's standard, as it’s written in the book, which doesn't have to be bad. But in execution, I don't even find it perfect and it's mind-numbingly boring. Taking 2 months to dawdle is probably a joke? For me, zero points for innovation. They are simply too unoriginal and too slow.

I would change all 3 floor plans. I like the one from Baumeister best. I can’t say much about the companies. Fingerhandschuhe, we were in a model house with an extremely aggressive consultant.
