Really? My assessment has always been that about 80% build with a basement. You can also set up surveys here. That would really interest me.

A new residential area with dozens of plots, so far only two cellars discovered. Cellars, hardly anyone does that here in SH.

Make it 5-10% and you’ll be closer to the truth.

Read here for a few weeks, then you don’t need a survey. 80% with a basement applied when the chancellors were still named Helmut. Today (and you can clearly see that here in the forum) most builders want slab-on-grade plots so they don’t have to build into the ground. Rather, there is tinkering back and forth about how much to dig out here and fill in there in order to conjure up a level plot even on a slight slope. Builders do want basements, but above ground as a nine-meter garage. Especially with semi-detached houses, basements are least in demand, because they are seen as a cost factor. Don’t forget: for those building a semi-detached house, it is often decisive for their plot budget that it can be a little narrower due to the building line. Logically, they do not simultaneously have “too much” money for the extra cost of slab foundation - basement.

... at the same time, however, there is little space on one's own towel, so "downwards" is not completely stupid. But I still consider the fear to be unfounded. If a developer builds both halves, they will make them the same anyway, and if there are really two separate, completely unknown developers, it will be very expensive for the basement builder (their bad luck). But you know that beforehand, so there is no need to fear bad blood.
