One can. If nothing is left except compromises of what you wanted and only small, extremely tall rooms remain on the upper floor, you have to be a bit more ruthless... The staircase to the garden suits us well. Let's see if we curse it after a year. We have looked at several variants for the narrow corridors; at 2m, everything was so far quite bearable. Since our building application is still in the preliminary review (in Saxony this is not time-limited), there should be no problems.

That is already from the top edge of the floor.. I have observed this issue enough at Hotzenplotz

I think we like it better this way. We have the open space on the upper floor above the large room, the other rooms are limited to 2.40, above that is then the gallery. But we are now waiting for the architect's drawings before we forget more. What we can put online will then come.

Then it is ok. Just over 2 meters would be too little for that size

Somehow you have actually made quite a few compromises now.
Basement gone
Wellness area brought into the house
No fireplace room, no library,
Very small bedrooms, tiny dressing room

Do you really want it like this?
Compare the room sizes and the rooms

I find 240 as room height rather tight. The Pax from Ikea, which is always used as a reference here, would no longer fit in the large version.

What you are building here works as it is, but I agree with haydee: with that number of square meters, something sensationally beautiful could come out of it. This is more or less a two-family house with a wellness oasis downstairs. It doesn't have a feel-good character yet...

Do you have any key data? Outlines, how big the house is allowed to be? Since the log house is off the table and a timber frame will be built, all possibilities are open.

Just as stairs connect, they can also separate. In this case, one unit, namely food preparation and eating in summer, is separated by the stairs. We had this on Sunday in a rental apartment on the first floor: grilling is allowed in the garden, but five adults had to go back and forth twice so that at least the essentials including toddler and high chair were carried downstairs.

I don’t understand either: how do you get the idea to put a door all the way in the back?
This design reminds me of a church converted into a monastery. I wonder who wants to walk these corridors.
