Is that your wife's opinion? I ask because I can't really imagine that teachers want to live directly opposite the school where they teach. You are constantly under observation there, and if you are ever sick, everyone rings the doorbell. In my opinion, as a teacher living opposite the school, you share a great deal of your private life with the whole school, the students, their parents, and the colleagues. But maybe I am wrong.

And think it over again regarding the better insulated windows (and roller shutter box) for the study rooms.... now it might still be possible, later with the owners' association it will de facto become almost impossible.

I now also have a nice apartment - penthouse - a mere ~400,000 would be the loan, overall 560,000 €. Typical for the area. After a few nights of thinking, safety buffer blah blah it would be affordable. The advisor of course says "easily affordable due to high equity." I obviously can’t eliminate all risks - but those I can influence have been considered. But the price really messes with my mind. The location is really great... I wonder if a Valium until moving in might help? Depending on my mood, sometimes “yes, go for it” or “no, better leave it.” Just awful! You also don’t know where the economy is heading, but the installment would be payable even with unemployment... of course, not eternal unemployment.

Which area approximately and what square meter size? Sounds quite nice if you like penthouses.
