A quick question. Is moving in considered an automatic handover?
We were told by the main contractor that we had already moved into the house and therefore they no longer wanted to accommodate us regarding the question of the "exceeding of the guaranteed construction time." However, we had only changed the mailbox and set up mail forwarding to the new address.
One could partially accept certain trades or partial areas and document it with a handover protocol signed by both parties.
The important thing is only to record any open issues in a protocol. We then accepted everything except for the points still to be completed. Here we went through the house together with the site manager and DEKRA.
We were able to stay with the parents-in-law during the transition period. We had also taken care of finding a new tenant, so we were fairly free from deadlines, etc. But we could not move directly into the house — especially not with all the household goods.
You basically need a continuous office with PC, printer, scanner, and all the folders. I would rather pay rent for 1-2 months longer or rent a small apartment nearby — for office and sleeping. Children, etc., could perhaps be looked after during vacation at grandma & grandpa’s. Remaining work
