And, to still have a "more official and enclosed" area, one can also plan kitchen/dining, preferably on the terrace, and living with reading/sofa/TV.

If 80% here recommend the open kitchen and you belong to the 20%, does that benefit you?

Therefore, to each his own.

There is nothing to add from my side. However, I also agree with . What use is "my" opinion if you are completely different than "me" ;) or Benutzer200, or or

Open kitchen in the apartment. Nice but a bit too far into the living area. In summer, bought a townhouse with a separate kitchen (access from the hallway). Today we had the wall to the living-dining area opened (1.15 m wide). I think we will not regret it. The kitchen is still clearly separated but still "communicative" and with short distances. Altogether, we now have almost 40 sqm living/dining/cooking. Additional advantage: The kitchen faces north and is not particularly bright. We assume that the lighting situation will become significantly more pleasant/friendlier. Tomorrow we will see the result :) And the best part: All in (statics and execution, by two independent companies) for just under 1,600 EUR. So for us, a closed kitchen is absolutely out of the question anymore.

We have already visited several famous castles and apartments, Schönbrunn, Sansoucis, Hofburg, Sigmund Freud’s apartment on Berggasse in Vienna, and many more….there was never an open kitchen anywhere. But every caravan has one….

I totally agree, a dishwasher with a party program (20-30 minutes per wash cycle) as well as two large sinks should help here. We don’t regret it and cooking fumes and odors disappear quickly through a 5-meter wide terrace door.

That’s true, they also don’t have an outdoor kitchen as often found today, no carport, no shower (but found in every caravan), and many other modern conveniences are missing. The spirit of the times has simply changed. I cannot compare a Bauhaus or similar to Sanssouci or Schönbrunn.
