The window installer had offered those for the windows upstairs, for the one downstairs it probably would have been a very good idea...

Reordering is always possible and it doesn't have to be done by the window installer. We did that with very good results in our rental apartment. There, a kitchen window facing south also has no blind.

Direct sunlight in summer brings heat into the house. There are pleated blinds with folding slats that are lined inside with aluminum foil and reflect outward. Something like that doesn't cost much for standard windows either. However, the reflective material must be used for interior shading!

The coating on interior shading does not reflect as much as would be necessary in midsummer. In my opinion, the heat must be kept outside.

I can't believe it! It's summer, bright and light, and you seriously want to turn your house into a dark nuclear bunker? Shutters down, lights on. What are you smoking down there? - In summer, the sun is high here, a sensible roof overhang, maybe roll out an awning, and the big patio window is in the shade. The other south-facing windows: raise the pleated blinds, leave them tilted, let the wind in, a bit of a draft in the house, and that's that. -- Honestly, I don't believe you about the shading. I suspect behind the urge for shutters something deep from the subconscious: Catholic sin phobia. Nobody is allowed to see how "dark" it is here....huhuuuhuh. We up here, however, regret nothing. Since the bare house price is taken without additional construction costs, garage etc., also painting and flooring are extra, it means: the 2000€/sqm refer to a offered "turnkey" single-family house according to energy saving regulation 100, Karsten is even below 1500/sqm. And that not distorted or glossed over.

We already had this topic about 2/3 years ago. Some users really had a phobia that someone might look into their house.
So what? As long as no one comes onto the property, stands on the terrace behind the bush and stalks me, I don't care about the dog walkers, who anyway tend to look at their phone while walking rather than into the houses.

Do you always have to be derogatory? But no matter what we smoke, as long as we up there support you with the financial equalization between the states, we do everything better.

PS. Here in the south, almost no one builds a bungalow because 80% of the building plots are on slopes or the plots don't allow it.
