How to deal with increasing property tax burden?

Hello everyone,

I am thinking about the current situation regarding the rising [Grundsteuer].
If you are affected by an increase as an owner or tenant, there are only limited options. Owners could consider reviewing their [Grundsteuererklärung] again or looking for possible savings in other property costs. But what about tenants who feel these increases as part of the [Nebenkosten]? Are there maybe strategies or approaches to mitigate this financial burden? And could it help to talk to the landlord about adjustments? Do you have any experiences / advice on how to best position yourself here?

Option 1: move into a smaller property
Option 2: don’t worry about the lack of changeability and simply pay
Option 3-Infinite: not available

I admit that I would already send a few fitting words to my tenant if he started arguing about it...

Personal misfortune. My tenants simply have these passed on to them when it becomes more expensive. I don't pay increased heating costs or the increase in garbage fees either.

Hi,

a quick question about property tax.
We have now also received our new property tax assessment for 2025.
The increase was actually clear to us.
But why does the assessment amount for "new buildings" differ so much from the "old buildings"?
I asked around in my neighborhood and many do have to pay higher amounts, but nowhere near as much as we do with a new building...?
The requirements for a new building are considerable. But why are we now being charged a second time for this?

Which federal state? With the general model, you are dealing with the fact that the old buildings were calculated based on old years in the past. Simply put. I also had an unrenovated old building in the query. For example, a significantly lower rent is then calculated than for a new building.
