And exactly that was a reason for us (and surely for many others) to build new and have the biggest part done after a "foreseeable" time. I see that with my parents-in-law: house from 1907?! Bought about 20 years ago and they are renovating, repairing, renovating again almost every year. It feels like it never ends. You just always have something to do! Without wanting to devalue an old house (don’t get me wrong!!)

@ WilderSueden 318k € ONLY for the basic package, plus all sorts of other bigger items. That really can only be afforded or paid off by a very well earner. And maybe still leaving part of the debt to the children who are supposed to inherit the house. I’m really glad to have dared to build myself and to be at half the cost with the same living space! But of course others may see that differently, which is perfectly fine

For stove connection yes, because many people still have too much respect for that and are willing to pay 70 EUR for 5 minutes of work. For a lamp, no one is willing to pay 70 EUR.

It really depends a lot on where you live. I had similar experiences in northern Germany in the past. Here in the south and very rural areas, you will find almost nothing on "Portal mit dem Hammer." The internet hasn't quite caught on here yet. You might have better luck with the "small goats." But here, the traditional telephone still plays the biggest role.

I also find this moving and detaching of kitchens in rental apartments very strange and extremely pointless, because often the kitchen doesn't even fit in the new apartment.
Lamps are another matter, they can be taken down quickly and are also not particularly difficult to connect. First, check with a multimeter to make sure there is really no power.

But I, for example, would have a professional or electrician show me the first time and then do it MYSELF under their supervision with the next lamp. That way you don’t need them next time.
My father (he’s an electrician) also showed me that, and then I installed the other lamps myself and was a little proud, too.

I wouldn’t have thought that Australia takes it so "strictly."
The problem, as so often with permanently installed apartments/houses, is really the taste of the furnishing. Not everyone likes the lamps that are already hanging there.

But the next neighbor can also hang up a lamp for a bottle of beer.
