It goes without saying that it costs more if you choose something different or additional. You don't have to be a genius for that. When you buy a car, it also says 25,999,- that's the 125 HP version without radio, air conditioning, and electric windows... If you choose 180HP and all sorts of gimmicks, of course it doesn’t cost 25,999,- anymore, which is actually logical.

Hello Alessandro

ok, 6 Mille is a lot of money. Especially when you consider all the future expenses. You are annoyed, which is understandable. Of course, the electrician let you "walk into the open knife." But you also bear some of the blame. Get in touch with the electrician. Explain to him that you are somewhat disconcerted. Try to negotiate a discount. Or ask if you can reduce the bill through own work. The electrician is not entirely clean either. Maybe you can come to an agreement somewhere.

Please stop now! You are aware that a Gira E2 costs more than a Gira55. It’s like if the construction performance description states "VW or equivalent" and you order a Multivan California instead of a Passat! You have a duty of care; you are the one paying and must inform yourself beforehand.
And the phrase "we thought" is simply deadly in construction. If you don’t discuss expectations and price, exactly this happens.

I do not understand this approach overall and hope that I will learn more before the start of our construction. Prices must be indicated for goods in the display window, restaurants must print prices on the menus and also post them, and for services (at least for hairdressers) I am also familiar with it that way.

With craftsmen, it seems that they do not have to say in advance what and how much something will cost beforehand, even though it sometimes involves significant amounts. As a non-expert recipient of the service, do I have to research every process step myself and explicitly ask the craftsman about each item or request a written offer?

By the way, this was one of the reasons for me to choose a prefabricated house (even though some things will still be added), because I simply lack the experience to recognize what the craftsmen of the individual trades omit and then want to be paid for later. It is also not clear to me whether an architect might then cover the costs for this or not.

This is not meant as criticism, this approach must have reasons, but it is difficult for me as a customer.
