Without a trailer hitch, I wouldn't want more either. The trailer was one of the best purchases ever. And when Obi still gave 10% with a customer card, we bought the trailer with the Payback from the year of the renovation. It cost around €850 back then, for us "nothing".

Exactly. I just built a raised bed with my brother, and for that we needed filling material and wood as well as concrete, mortar, etc. We got everything with the trailer. We have one of those high tarpaulin trailers with a 2m loading area, perfect for bulky loads. If you want to load gravel or something like that at the gravel plant, we take the cover off beforehand and have a flat trailer. I can only recommend it to everyone. Friends also like to borrow the trailer sometimes.

I would never have dared to suggest that here ;) since it actually requires quite a bit of expertise, at least the electrical part. But even if you have it installed, you’ll soon recoup the money if you do a lot yourself.

The question is whether you realize that you are making a mistake. The expert came through the front door and saw it immediately even though he was not actually there to inspect the shell construction. At that time, I also thought like Silke. I had noticed that the masons worked slightly outside the tolerance, but that such mistakes could be made...

Topic trailer hitch:
It cost me 600€ from the factory. Cars without a trailer hitch are possible but impractical. And I'm not just saying this because, as a sailor, I tow my boat from the winter storage to the berth twice a year (there used to be more regattas ;)). You can also use it for many other things, and trailers can always be rented cheaply, especially without mileage limits. Also, you can put bike racks on it. Next time, I would tend to choose a fixed trailer hitch, kneeling behind the car is annoying and 50 kilos of tongue weight are very tight for heavy trailers.

It wasn’t easy. We read up, watched various YouTube videos, and in such a workshop there is always a professional you can ask. We did it ourselves out of financial necessity. There was no money for the car specialist, but we really wanted the trailer hitch. The buddy who was there often works on his car and motorcycle. Three academics then actually managed it together :p. I’m not saying everyone can or should do it. But the option exists, and that’s how it is with many things. You just have to put in the effort and invest time.

I find the mistake obvious. You can see the gaps. And if you had done it yourself, you would have read up on it beforehand and the mistake would have been clear to you. By the way, I recently did masonry for the first time for the raised bed. Now, that’s not comparable to a house and it was only a few rows. But I managed it. Of course, I made mistakes, because I hadn’t really read up on something as small as that little wall. I think I would already dare to build a small garden wall now. And maybe more after that? No idea. But you really grow into it.
