It is logical that consumption will increase.
The logic only holds if one assumes a (too) tight supply.
I actually read about a massive oversupply and Germany currently also has a high export surplus.
By the way, the gas that goes into the house can also go into the gas turbine. That is the beauty of electricity; it can be generated from many sources, from oil to wind power. The producers therefore compete. I think that’s good.
What has continuously become more expensive are the charges, not the production costs. The Renewable Energy Sources Act surcharge and transit costs are rising due to the energy transition.
