Drilling is nonsense. Air is sufficient.

Well then take a look at the invoice from the heating engineer for what this exhaust pipe and the air intake from outside cost.
Also the gas line that has to be laid from the connection to the boiler.

There’s no sugarcoating that. Either you believe the numbers or you’re fooling yourself?

Besides, you can easily connect the air-water heat pump yourself... legally, that’s not possible with a gas appliance.

Pipe costs several hundred euros.

The chimney sweep comes every 3 years, so nothing with 100 euros per year.

You are calculating with incorrect numbers here.

Air heat pumps have a lower annual performance factor than brine and therefore tend to have higher consumption costs than gas.

With the current prices, an annual performance factor of > 4 must be achieved for me to break even with gas.

It is generally stated and not disputed that gas and heat pumps are quite even in pure consumption costs.

And how does the pipe get to the roof? The exhaust gases are not discharged on the ground floor. My Panasonic air-to-water heat pump costs 2500 euros and achieves an annual performance factor of 4.65. You just have to size it correctly...

Just that no heating engineer offers something like that. Including makeshift solutions in the comparison has something of a hobby workshop. Even if the solutions are often good.

I am also a fan of the gas boiler myself. I would almost bet that in forums the questions/problems with heat pumps clearly predominate, even though the share of heat pumps is only 10-15% (sales/year).

In a perfect world, the heat pump might actually be a simple technology, but reality often looks different...

Has anyone perhaps ever brought up the good old oil heating system? In the version of an oil stove, it is particularly low-maintenance and reliable. When operated with Aral ultimate, it also has top environmental values. In memoriam Lisa N. always ultimate on Fridays.
