Hi. I have installed an air-to-air heat pump in the house. With this, I operate the ventilation system including heating, the hot water preparation, and in summer there should be the possibility to lower the temperature in the house by five degrees, that is to cool. However, I can’t say anything about this yet as I have only been living in the house for a few weeks. If the heat pump is not enough, infrared panels (which are attached to the ceiling in every room) heat additionally. I just wanted to tell you something about the noise issue... Next to our front door is the guest bathroom. There is a sliding door and behind it is the compact unit. When the door is closed and the bathroom door as well, you cannot hear the system. Our ground floor is open designed, and there you also can’t hear anything. Regards

Hello, I would definitely be interested in your further experiences. Who did you build with? Who is your heating system from?

Best regards

hi.the house is from the company elk and the compact unit is from the company nilan. currently I have a consumption of 35kwh per day at an indoor temperature of 24 degrees celsius. I pay 4.7 cents per kwh (net) I do not find the energy costs high since in the 35kwh per day, electricity for appliances and living, alarm system, hot water preparation, heating and fresh air in the house are included. at the moment only the lower infrared panels are switched on. I could certainly reduce the consumption further due to the too high set hot water temperature (65 degrees celsius). now we have very hard water and I fear that the lime deposits will increase in the pipes if I reduce the temperature. I once switched off the panels and the air heat pump reached a temperature of 18-19 degrees in the house. however, it was not as cold as now (-16).

I hear from some that they only need 600€ heating electricity per year. Others insist that this heating technology is complete rubbish. It is very difficult to get a good basis for decision. How is it now in winter? Isn't the air very dry? Also, what about the dust issue? And how loud are the fans? Shouldn't there always be a disturbing humming to be heard?

that is currently really a disadvantage. the air is extremely dry and I still don't know how to change that. 20% humidity is clearly too little. you only hear the fans outside the house but that is also very quiet. the ventilation system has 4 levels; when I set it to level 4 you hear the air flowing out. but it is always set to level 2, and then you hear little. I can well imagine the 600 euro heating costs since in a reasonably warm month I had electricity costs, mind you for everything, of about 70 euros. but since everything runs on electricity for me and the infrared panels already have to be on in winter, that will not work out. on the subject of dust: we have significantly less dust! except in the bathroom where there is always a lot of dust, although I do not know why. in the bathroom there is only exhaust air.

Isn't it possible to adjust the amount of fresh air or the humidity? From a heating technology with ventilation, I would have expected to be able to influence the humidity somewhere as well. In the past, one could hang a water container on the heater for that purpose.
