The original comment was not from me, but I am sure that this is exactly what was meant. However, I do not share the concerns. Above the main window at the top of the plan, the overhang caused by the balcony is only about 1 meter. That should hardly interfere with the sunlight exposure. In winter, the sun is low anyway, and in summer you don't really want that much sun in the house. Especially with hillside houses, I often see terraces/balconies on the ground floor (street level), which often have an even larger overhang over the hillside floor than just 1 meter. Many of my acquaintances thought so too, until they have been spending 24 hours a day with the whole family in the house since Corona. But even long before Corona: I think there should always be two doors between the social living room and the children's bedroom. I remember myself how often I annoyedly closed the living room door in the evening during my childhood, especially when my parents had guests there.

Cool. I could always fall asleep very well to murmuring voices. Everyone is different that way :)

Hello everyone,
thank you again for your comments!
We have incorporated many of them.

This is now the revised draft; the garage has been moved 2.50 m to the right due to too large a side surface (no longer allowed as a border garage).
It’s of course a shame, as the south garden then lacks the 2.5 m.
However, the additional space towards the north can also be used; we imagine a path/stairs to the garden on the left side of the garage.
There would also still be room for a parking space and a shed (or similar) for garbage bins, bicycles, etc.
The garage has been extended by one meter to 7 m; the basement below remains the same for now. This creates a step down below, which might be useful for quick sheltering.

I look forward to your opinions!
Thank you in advance.

I really like it a lot – this is going to be a beautiful house!

I am coming a bit late to the party, so please don’t be mad if I mention a few minor things that have already been discussed:

    [*
I would move the door from the hallway to the study slightly towards the top of the plan to align it with the adjacent wall
[*]the following two points are subjective, but to me the current plan feels too segmented and "cramped"
      [LIST]
[*]in that context, I would also leave out the door between the hallway and the living room and instead use the now widened passage (possibly with a small floor-to-ceiling shelf or similar as a mini-divider)
[*]I would also leave out the door from the hallway to the airlock

[*]I would straighten out the awkward space at the top right by Child I by shifting the exterior wall slightly to the left (not really important, but personally I’m a bit neurotic and like it as clear as possible)
[*]I know this has already been discussed, but I would also leave out the door between the entrance and the living corridor to open up the corridor and bring in light. Sound insulation to the children’s rooms can also be achieved with a properly designed door
[*]I would leave the space under the stairs open and probably also build the stairs open (without risers). Otherwise, the living corridor becomes really tight/dark.
[*]the bathroom downstairs is really huge – if desired, you could enlarge the dressing room by moving the wall between the bathroom and dressing room to the left on the plan

One other thing I noticed: the 14kW air-to-water heat pump seems strongly oversized. Have you had technical advice and do you feel confident? Otherwise, it’s worth planning this topic early and thoroughly.

Again, congratulations on the great design!

Basically, I also like the design at first glance. But the longer I look, the more the staircase bothers me.

I am a fan of staircases in the living area. But: only if it goes upwards and functions as a design object or room divider. Here, it is just a hole.

This creates a huge hallway downstairs – no, 2 hallways. You can call it a "living hallway," but it is a dark basement hallway, which you also want to separate towards the children because it is somehow too noisy.

Therefore, in my opinion, this shape and/or orientation of the staircase does not fit optimally to the house and its residents.

A half-turn staircase where your utility room is next to the kitchen now could, for example, fit better.

If you look at the initial plans, it is a great example of how much momentum a forum can provide.
Even if there are some minor issues here and there, at least on the plan (everything has already been mentioned), it will be a beautiful house for a great quality of life.
I probably would have swapped the levels, but you have found a good compromise! :)
