I can't tell you. I believe that was during discussions with architects, maximum 15 meters in single-family home construction. There may be further requirements, but the experts would certainly be able to say more about that.

So, due to the many helpful contributions, I have changed the floor plan a bit (still not completely thrown out, ypg I just like the living room with bay window, terrace, and kitchen too much). During the week we will schedule an appointment with our architect. However, I am still happy about every contribution here so that I can attend the appointment well prepared.

Children's room
- now in the southwest and significantly larger (just as my fiancée wanted ^^)

Dressing room
- still small, but I couldn't solve it differently and in my imagination it is enough as it is

"Pantry"
- taken out of the kitchen and placed in the hallway, so it is still quite long, but somewhat shorter and in addition to the utility room I have a chamber where vacuum cleaner and such can find space

Children's bathroom
- converted into a guest toilet with shower
- parents' bathroom is now also the bathroom for the child

Bathroom
- open shower is marked with a gray square; 2x2m this is meant to represent the "splash area"

I am curious what you think of it now?!

6 meters hose/hallway. Do you want to set a new record here? I can only advise you from the heart to go to an architect. This is wasted time. 17 meters in external dimensions.

It will probably be a record hallway, but there hardly seem to be any alternatives with a bungalow of 160 sqm (bungalows apparently rarely appear in this forum if you look at the house photo thread).

We have now been to an architect and made some changes. For example, the hallway is now visually divided by a door frame without a door.
Our architect doesn’t know of any maximum exterior dimension.

Since I have received many good ideas and suggestions here, which I have tried to implement within the scope of our own wishes, I would like to post a floor plan again and hear your opinions on it.

The next step is to present the floor plan to a construction company. Initial discussions (without the floor plan) have already taken place.
Since we only want to start building in Oct/2017, we are currently considering whether to follow the architect’s suggestion and inquire all trades ourselves. The construction company would do the extended shell and schedule all trades (including those ordered by us).
In connection with a building surveyor, whom we wanted to commission anyway, this sounds worthwhile to me in my imagination, considering that just for the building planning 10-20k euros are otherwise charged (is this amount correct?)...

Take a look at Luxhaus 159... there are offset variants - private on the left, public on the right. That way you definitely have a very dark hallway... Luxhaus 141 is also more appealing.

I was excited at first. However, we wish for a relatively straight front facing southwest, so as not to have too much shade in the garden/living room. Our desire is to keep as much sunny garden in the southwest as possible.

In addition, in our current rental apartment, we have a hallway only slightly shorter but of the same width (1.25m), and we have no problems with it. Of course, we would have preferred a brighter hallway, but the other rooms suit us so well that we would accept such a hallway again.

Does anyone actually have experience with [Lichtschächten]? Like those sometimes seen in public buildings?! Is it associated with high financial costs or does it prevent achieving a KFW 55 value....
