It is just a thought to stimulate personal decision-making.
In our case, the grandchildren also sometimes sleep and chill in the bedroom. And they are allowed to use the closets too.

Then you should just knock anyway. I think, as long as this isn’t a 10-person anarchist shared flat, you can manage to know where each resident is or where you might need to “be careful.” For many, the doors are open anyway, and if they are actually closed, you ask if it’s okay to come in. The house is very compact. It’s not small, but with the desire for a large more or less separate living area, then the third “bathroom,” the need for a separate office – it can get a bit tight. If you take a youth bed 120 cm wide, then an appropriate desk, there’s not much left for personal sports equipment. You don’t store suitcases and decorations outside (this also means the storage room behind the garage), and constantly going up to the attic can be a burden.

We don’t have an attic, on top there is only greenery and photovoltaic panels, no suitcases are stored there either. :)

Thanks for your quick & dirty drawings, I’ll have the family take a look tomorrow, let’s see if they like any of the ideas. At the moment they’re all just watching football (U21 European Championship), nothing else is happening.

Yeah, I confused the house with another one. Not even an attic. See, my husband can do that alone :D

But you can actually store suitcases and decorative stuff well in the garage.

So, in causal connection, you prefer to send the residents of the house out to the garage behind the car to get something to put down/trash/things you need/towels rather than storing them behind a cupboard behind the door because the latter is impractical. Note the argumentation ;) You made my day!
