I can well believe that. I just fear you will doubt your planning authority if it is really presented the way you portrayed it (and a draftsperson is unaffected as long as it is "building authority compliant").

And pulling this around the corner is not taken into account in the floor plan drawing at the basement stairs of but would make the area by the slanted wall even tighter.

I meant my basement stairs. They have no extra corner and are really comfortable to walk on.

@Würfel* : What do you think about the new version with the open staircase, especially since you obviously have one too?

I am not a fan of open staircases at all. I know it from terraced houses/semi-detached houses where the dining area is always next to the staircase. I just find it uncomfortable – the view of the staircase. Not to mention the smells and noises. My photo may be misleading, I practically have an enclosed stairwell. So I am definitely in favor of the version with the closed staircase :-) In your new living room, I miss windows. That would be too dark for me. You have such a great view of the forest, there should be a big window there! TV on the small west wall. Do you always just sit on the sofa to watch TV? Looking at the forest almost has something meditative. Simply wonderful.

Exactly, I am also missing a window in the living room. With the wardrobe, I would lack space for shoes that are currently being worn, or do you actually always put them straight into a closet?
