Würfel's suggestion was previously related to a different floor plan, where the staircase position was different. This made the additional door possible, since the children's bathroom was also positioned on the other side. In the current floor plan, the children's bathroom is located at the spot where the door is proposed.

Anyway, the staircase comes up at the "wrong" end of the hallway. This means you would have to take the route either way.

Where do you see significant potential for spatial savings, apart perhaps from the children's rooms, or in which areas is space being wasted? I understand your point, but especially on the ground floor the rooms result from adhering to "minimum dimensions" (distance between kitchen unit and cupboard wall, width of the dining room, hallway width in front of the wardrobe, etc.)

What advantage would leaving out the kitchen wall have from your point of view? Without a kitchen wall, I believe you would almost be standing right in the kitchen upon entering the house. In addition, all the kitchen cabinets positioned on the kitchen wall would disappear, wouldn't they?

Yes, out with the tumor.

The construction-philosophical misconception is the same as in industry when designers develop products. There, the therapy is called "Target Costing" :)

Advantage? Well, the awful hallway disappears, which only consumes square meters without any other benefit. A wall panel can serve as a privacy screen/divider. The kitchen becomes larger, can be newly arranged, dining and living areas move closer, and voilà, you end up with 200 sqm instead of the current over 220 plus balcony. At the moment, it's over the limit, right? Personally, I would move the garage further north and place the main entrance on the east side. The south side is way too sacred for me to plan the pantry and WC there :)

I can understand your desire for a short driveway and thus space after a double garage. I also think the living room is better placed in the north by the forest than the kitchen. However, like YPG, I would definitely let the south sun into the house and therefore remove the pantry and equip the kitchen with a huge south-facing window above the countertop. With the basement and the many cabinets, you don't necessarily need a pantry here.

I can no longer find the basement stairs in your new design. You could place them under the other staircase. In my suggestion, you would then have to put a door between the living and dining area, through which you can access the basement stairs. Not ideal, but in my design there would be south sun in the house and the endlessly long hallway would be shortened, and there would be more space for the wardrobe. The staircase is shifted a bit to the right and one step up. But that is enough upstairs as well.
