The following situation: Our development plan allows for 2 full floors. This means we could design the roof in such a way that we can convert it later if desired. But what does this mean concretely? Does anyone have experience or reference values regarding the financial and technical implications of creating an expansion reserve?

Wouldn't it have been more sensible to discuss this (long ago) here instead of starting a separate new thread about it?

Our stairs look somewhat like this. View upstairs. The top step is flush with the floor in our case. Normal, comfortable.., no exotic!

I still have enough graph paper; problem: my wife doesn’t like working with it :) Now to the serious part: in February, the revised draft from my wife is supposed to be submitted. Although this has already been labeled as ugly without addressing the floor plan itself.
