I would definitely choose the closed version. I find the open one terribly impractical with children who are getting bigger (as parents, you no longer have any peace when all the visiting children have to run through the scene). Apart from that, it also looks terrible to me. The closed version looks much more elegant.

We like the frame in this respect because it fulfills several functions: With the frame, we can shape a rectangular building for a gable roof with an east-west orientation. In addition, we can nicely roof the balcony on the upper floor and provide privacy protection. We do not necessarily need the western sun on the upper floor (the children's room has a room facing west, the hallway as well as the bedroom should have enough daylight). In short, this frame is suitable.

But you are right, it may be too much of a good thing. Therefore, we have now planned the frame towards the west on the ground floor as a half-height wall, to have the western sun in the living room:

Many thanks for your input, which helped us make some adjustments based on your suggestions:

- Stairs: rotated, open, half-turned
- Living room: rotate the sofa + balcony door facing west (that should be sufficient).
- Entrance area: A double-leaf interior door in the entrance area, as the door in the living room is eliminated due to the open stairs
- Wardrobe: right side bench + tall cabinet. Left side: half-high cabinet with mirror for key storage, etc.

- Wardrobe:

- Living room including fireplace:

Furthermore, in the dining room, the lift-and-slide window door was replaced by a panoramic window, which feels much cozier:

That reads like the press release for a tender draft; in reality, I think people will call the house the SIMS house throughout the entire settlement ;-)
Meaning: I consider the attempt to reinterpret the bug as a feature to be "ambitious" ;-)

I would actually like to live as a SIM in this "SIMS house" :)
Meaning: I don't care what the whole settlement calls the house ;)

I believe that. I just fear you will doubt your planning skills if it is really presented the way you depicted it (and a draftsman is unbothered if it is that "building authority compliant").
