We currently have a 6.5 m² closed kitchen and more or less everything on a 2.6 meter wide row. Sometimes we get in each other’s way, but we haven’t stabbed each other yet .
We will ask the general contractor again whether he has a comparable house and how the kitchen was set up there.

is the kitchen expert here, right? Do you have any idea for this kitchen?

Of course not. Newspapers go into the newspaper basket and are sorted out from time to time. In the kitchen cabinet with the trash cans, one could also consider having one for paper, or alternatively place a box in the utility room.

I just counted: we have 10. Maybe 5 more will come with the house, if at all ... just digitize and you have access from everywhere .

Ours with 57 cm, on the other hand, do fit .

I think it’s good that you bring this up.
What does your alternative look like? Build 20 m² bigger?
We went through all of our current storage spaces and concluded that the planned spaces will be sufficient. We’re not even counting the cabinet in the hallway here.

So you would extend the garage all the way to the end of the terrace?

OK.

I would like to address the following points about our floor plan once more:

[*]What do you do with the window in the hallway if the bathroom window on the east side is no longer floor-to-ceiling? Floor-to-ceiling windows don’t look that good from the outside either, right?
[*]In the kitchen, we’re considering making the floor-to-ceiling window 12.5 cm narrower. 1.01 meters should be wide enough, right?
[*]How can you position the window in the office so that it is centered and yet matches the exterior view with the kitchen window? Or does it not matter for the office whether the window is centered or not?
[*]In the bedroom, we’re considering lowering the parapet height by 12.5 cm. A 1.2 meter back panel would still fit under the windowsill and the window handle would be a bit lower.
[*]For the bedroom, we’re thinking about moving the wall with the door 1 meter towards the top of the plan, so that the wall aligns with the bathroom wall. The bedroom wouldn’t really gain much more floor space from this, but the door would no longer open into the room, but could rest against the office wall.
[*]In the hallway, instead of the cabinet opposite, one could also build a niche where a built-in cabinet fits. That might look a bit tidier; although then we would still have to build a cabinet about 1.2 meters wide there. The current floor plan with the cabinet is just one option.

I wouldn't have the kitchen in that spot or at least not in that form. I really like Katja's layout from , especially because of the bedroom etc. .. and basically I would always position the kitchen by the terrace. Just yesterday evening again I realized, after the cinema, having a nightcap on the terrace .. great that the kitchen is right next to it and the drink supply worked well. However, I don't currently have a suitable floor plan at hand.

I also don't like windows behind the headboard of beds.

As already written:

We like our floor plan and at least some of you don’t find it too bad either.
We take a few points with us and maybe you can help us with my points from ?

[*]Additionally, I still have the window in the wardrobe. Would it possibly make sense not to make it floor-to-ceiling so that you don’t feel quite so observed from the street or the neighborhood square when you’re changing clothes or going to the WC?

I would leave both as they are: 113 rough opening is better because this "window" will be used as an exit, among other things, to pick chives; and the office window should be directly in line—not just on the same axis—with it.

Thank you for your feedback .

We spoke with the general contractor again today. Making the kitchen 10 cm wider would be feasible (at the expense of the hallway). Then, at least visually, the cabinets could be designed to fit the 45/60/90 cm grid.

Good evening everyone,

we discussed the windows again with the general contractor (in a 3D animation) and it was quite amazing how it visually affects the appearance when, for example, the bedroom and bathroom windows were placed further outward (the same distance as the bathroom and utility room) ... the house suddenly looks a bit wider, although it remains the same width.

We also reconsidered how the bedroom might be designed and furnished differently. We had a version in which the bedroom window on the north side was replaced by a window on the west side, but it looked sh... on both sides.

The office would become a bit narrower, although a 250 cm wardrobe would still fit in there. The passage between the wardrobe and the office wall is 89 cm. The TV would probably be mounted on the wall with a swivel wall bracket.

This version came out (where I made the window wider than in the original design using Photoshop):

Then I mirrored the room again and it looks like this:

Do either of these variants make the bedroom better from your point of view?

Alternatively, there is the original variant, but with a slightly wider window:
