Why did we even come across this question again?
The original wall between the hallway and kitchen is now only 80 cm long. The kitchen planner changed our actually planned hidden kitchen in such a way that the access is now where an interior window was originally planned.
Now we no longer have much wall space to put a switch and screen on the wall. My idea was to place them centrally on the 80 cm wall between the cloakroom and kitchen. That would be 3 boxes and 2-3 slots.
Our construction supervisor gave us the hint that this must be checked statically since there is a high load on this wall.
Another idea was then to put the switch directly next to the door (to the guest toilet) and asked us why the door opens at all like that and not so that you can enter the cloakroom directly?
The wall projection of the WC rather speaks for the hinge shown on the right...
It's true that it is somewhat unfortunate that when you enter the house you first have the reveal (which was widened to 30 cm) on the right and then again the edge of the WC.
You don’t seriously want to have to walk around the open door individually in an emergency to get from the upper floor outside?
Or everyone first has to run to the cloakroom and possibly through the narrow floor-to-ceiling window there and from the cloakroom through the front door, if it is open. In case of emergency, which hopefully will never happen, certainly not the best solution.
No. You also have to close it and turn accordingly, unlike the storage room at work, which you close with your backside or foot.
Unfortunately, I didn’t understand what you wanted to say here.
I would probably leave it as it is. Especially as a family, when several people want to enter or leave the house at the same time, there will be congestion if the door hinge were on the right.
The door hinge is currently planned on the right when viewed from outside.
But how likely is that?
We hope there will never be such a moment. But if there is one and not everyone makes it in time, one asks oneself whether it would have been so bad to let the door open towards the cloakroom so that you don’t have to walk 1.5 m into the hallway with your shoes.
I would have the front door open outwards. Although unconventional in Germany, it doesn’t matter. You gain much comfort and also safety in an emergency.
That is certainly an interesting idea too. Only the video intercom and flush-mounted mailbox will be on the back wall of the guest toilet. That would not be so optimal for the person ringing outside to open the door.
