Yes, that’s really pathetic for this mega-house. I made a sketch with this arrangement.

Because of the thick garage, the house is pushed very close to the parents’ house. The west terrace is indeed quickly in the shade in the evening because of that. Is that really awesome?

Thank you very much for the effort, my wife also sat down this afternoon and tried to draw something that comes close to yours.

Very nice. Standard? What is a box? Or how many boxes should one meter be?
The homework now would be to place the house on the plot. Graphically.

What does the preliminary decision say about it? If only the 8m were asked about, only those would be checked. How tall are the other houses around? That would really be an option you should inquire about again. Why? You have to build the roof anyway. The area underneath always arises and is simply there. Making the ceiling load-bearing and insulating the slopes costs money, but it is cheap compared to the gain in space. Or put another way: not using the insanely huge area under the roof is a waste. But it does require a certain slope and height.

25cm corresponds to one square. The outer walls are indeed 50cm thick, but for simplicity, she didn't want to be more precise. Nothing is said about the height, only that the building fits into the local character and is therefore approved. The house is slightly elevated on the plot. This was probably deliberately built up back then to accommodate a basement. As a result, the existing house is elevated compared to the surrounding houses. Exactly how much, I cannot say, but at least from the gable window, I can see the surrounding roofs. How can I lead a staircase to the upper floor? That only works if the staircase is placed centrally again, otherwise I won’t fit it with the roof slopes, right?

Do you mean to the attic? It depends on the slope of the roof. At 20°, you don't need to build a staircase. You can't stand there anyway. That's why the question about the total height. Here's an example with a 35° roof: House raised by 50cm. Ridge height about 9.50m. You immediately notice how everything relaxes. Presumably, one could optimize further and save another centimeter or two. I didn't really make much effort in this regard. If it is absolutely necessary, you can also rotate the box again with the terrace in the west. I wouldn't do that. But for that you need the height.
