Well, no idea whether row houses are planned in the south or how this aversion comes about. The argument is also unclear since the open space in all designs completely spans the entire south. On the other hand, it is of course legitimate to want a west-facing terrace. If the gut feeling says so, then that's just how it is.

Oh, with Helmut not only blooming landscapes came, with the Gulf War the high cost of living also came.

oh yes :D how nice it is, how often one is misunderstood on the internet. :D So I walked around with the measuring tape, and was clueless about what exact values you need. At least my amateurish measurement roughly matches the plan. From north to south we have 26m and from west to east 19.5m. If I add up the values from the property plan, it fits almost perfectly. We can use the width almost completely. 6m distance to the existing building means according to the plan 4.83+2.35+5.47+10+3.91 = 26.5m - 6m = 20.5 max width. That almost matches my 19.5m. The length according to the plan is 3+6.31+13.2+4.51 = 27m of which 9.31 is already used by the existing path = 18.6 max length Was that now what you needed? I have actually thought about the suggestion with the garages pushed back and find the idea quite good. Then you even have space in front of the garage for guests to park when visiting and the space behind the garage is reduced. This probably wouldn’t have been used properly anyway. And as you say, the entrance would be possible in the east.

Just to clarify once more: It’s about your house project, right? How do you come up with west? Katja suggested east. West is not at all close to being a topic. There’s only field over there!? Just to understand: Your parents have their access from the top left on the plan...? Is that correct? You get an access top right on the plan. That means you are second row anyway and no outsider has to find you, right? What kind of arguments are those the architect is bringing up? A comprehensible argument is: the short and functional path applies. In this plot orientation to the north or east. And then via the ridge side of the house, because then the room layout becomes more effective. That has proven itself.

Just a little suggestion if your comfort zone is at 650,000 - for 200 sqm there isn’t much room left for special requests. Try planning with 170-180 sqm, it’s still more than enough for 5 people and the finances will be much more "comfortable". Take a look at floor plans from the big prefabricated house manufacturers online - you’ll see what’s possible...

Unfortunately, there isn’t much to gain from that side. The standard recipe is 2 children's rooms and an office/technical room on the ground floor. When we looked back then, for the required field, we mostly only found 200 square meter houses with 3 children's rooms. But from 170 square meters without a basement is quite possible. There are quite a few forums online. Maybe you’ll find inspiration there.
