Do you need LAN cables in the garage?

Garage LAN? YES!

A tip on the side: Please also get advice from an expert ([Bauherren-Schutzbund, Freunde, Verwandte etc.]) during the construction phase. If the developer already has such an easy time (in the sense of leading you around by the nose) with you, he will consistently take advantage of it. This is not meant negatively, but rather to serve as protection for you.

Then make it easy for yourself. Just put a repeater somewhere in the living room and connect with it to the garden, and that's it. Then you don't need to work with an access point, even though that is more elegant.

That's what we plan to do. But we want to use the repeater as an access point (i.e. connect it with LAN).

My only concerns right now are that with the window and patio door closed, the Wi-Fi in the garage and at the end of the garden (11x20m) might no longer be sufficient to surf the web with the phone, and that we would need an access point/repeater in the garden house.

If we leave out LAN in the garage, we would save €220 for CAT duplex and about €120 for the small patch panel.

If we switch to simplex at the desk and in the garage, we would save 2x €20 for simplex and about €120 for the small patch panel.

What would you do?

Sorry but I am totally uncertain about what we should do

I don't want to stand there later and say I should have had the cable installed and I don't want to say yes the cable is unnecessary

If WLAN is sufficiently covered there, I would say at least 30-40% of the total performance in the garage or at the end of the garden, then I would leave out the CAT cable

but if you say the WLAN won't be sufficient by then, then we would have it installed
