Now the next update from us. The architect had already taken away a few things from our last meeting. At that time, the balcony was not yet a topic, so the current adjustments are not yet integrated with your ideas. We had noted: the living room feels a bit like a corridor, unequal children's rooms could be a problem, and our children love window seats. Also, the shed for bikes and garden tools was a bit small. With that, the plans were initially changed as follows: 1. The staircase has moved slightly forward – this means you no longer have to enter the studio through the living room but can enter it from the hallway 2. A wardrobe is now present next to the wardrobe in the basement also at the ground floor entrance 3. The kitchen has now been swapped with the living area. To keep the living area spacious, the bay window is planned slightly larger than before 4. The storage room next to the kitchen was removed. However, due to the depth of the kitchen island, there is sufficient storage space according to the architect 5. The fireplace is now open on three sides as a room divider (this is still completely open) Now to the first floor 6. Due to the larger bay window, the second children’s room has become larger and received a window seat This slightly changes the facade on the garden side. For the next round, we put the balcony in front of the bedroom up for discussion. The architect is thinking about it. She had very good arguments for the balcony. 1. It is the place to watch the sunset 2. It is the side facing the street. Thanks to the balcony, floor-to-ceiling windows are possible in the bedroom. Due to the parapet, the bedroom cannot be seen inside. Without the parapet, smaller windows 3. The house is built very tall (from the valley side). To avoid looking like a disproportionate block, she wanted to make the house a bit tiered with the balcony. What do you think? Costs are currently not discussed... My concern is the walking space in the kitchen. At the moment, there is one meter between the row at the back wall (3.50 meters, 80 cm deep) and the island (2.50 meters, 100 cm deep). I have read that you need at least 1.20 meters distance, optimally 1.50 meters, if two people cook together. Then about the structure: we plan a timber frame construction with a wooden facade (larch). Slats crosswise so it doesn’t look too elongated. The roof is not yet planned. What would you choose? Tiles? Zinc roof? Extensive greening (is that even possible with the slope)? Thanks for your opinions!
