Or free, depending on negotiation skills. ;) In my experience, however, it is difficult to sell significantly more than a year into the future. In our case, on the other hand, it was completely easy to receive the purchase price immediately, which of course was good for the financing.

That is really funny. Sometimes things are only as complicated as we make them. Just approach your thoughts with the greatest possible joy. You have just moved into a new house - congratulations on that. The neighbor is annoying with music and a compromise could be found - well done. A farmstead would also be great - true. It doesn't have to be complicated.

I meant more how complicated it is to renovate a farmstead or that you first have to go through procedures and applications. I'm used to "easy living" here with a building notification and then off you go. :)
We talked and yes, a compromise will work for now, but in the long run it doesn't make me happy. There was music in the garden three days in a row now. Yesterday I spoke to him about it, saying it annoys me and that I also wanted to do something in the garden, then he turned it off. So far, so good. But would you want to register every time you want to use your property?
Today I went to the bathroom and briefly thought about sending a WhatsApp: "Can you turn it off for 10 minutes? I'd like to read Harry Potter while taking a dump." ... seriously, that’s not how you imagine life in a detached single-family house, right?

The hurdles regarding building permits in rural areas are the showstopper here. It’s not just complicated, it’s virtually impossible. The mere idea is extremely naive. It’s not that I don’t wish it for , but it just doesn’t work that way. Acquaintances have gone through exactly that process. They fought for years until the approval was granted, and in the end, the result was a mediocrely satisfying compromise. However, it must be said that the acquaintance’s father owns one of the largest industrial companies in the town and is extremely well connected. Simply finding a nice old farmhouse, renovating it, and then playing pony farm there doesn’t exist in Germany. And if you understand the background a bit, that’s for the best.
