yes. the higher the better. years ago, an acquaintance inherited the old house from his great-grandfather, who couldn’t even properly level the uneven floors. ceiling height was mostly under 2 m.
here in the village, acquaintances renovated almost everything themselves. it requires willingness to compromise. house built around 1900. bricks. stone by stone handmade back then. so insulation and installation layers were built inside. leads to small rooms. windows were not off-the-shelf, stairs narrow and steep by today’s standards, underfloor heating was not possible, but normal ceiling height. it succeeded, really cozy and façade preserved, apart from the energy saving regulations it doesn’t really meet what is considered a must-have today.
