Hehe... :D What are we talking about with "your" house in "secluded location"? How old are they?

By the way, the air conditioning is actually definite. My husband also has a say in this matter, and the only wish he has very concretely is an air conditioning system.

I have roughly estimated your list with about 200k renovation in mind at normal standard. Plus ventilation/air conditioning. Wall heating has already been mentioned. Old buildings often have several chimney flues, where controlled residential ventilation could possibly be integrated. By the way, I would implement that with a so-called air well. It preheats the air in winter and cools it down in summer. Otherwise, it is just a super elaborate project. The construction manager/architect will still be added. Extreme caution regarding [Denkmalschutz]!

I don't want to offend you, but I believe you will not be satisfied with your still non-existent property. You might find a standalone location, perhaps also peace, but bringing an old building up to the level of a new build without compromises is hardly possible and if so, only with a lot of money.

I agree with haydee. I think you have simply had terribly bad luck with your neighbors. I don't even know such neighbors from the immediate surroundings, and we have already lived in the fifth house in the fifth neighborhood. Maybe you should just look for another new building again. From your descriptions, I estimate the likelihood that the old building will not satisfy you to be high.

I don't believe the bad luck was "terrible." From my experience, music increases as an additional acoustic pollution. In German "solitary locations," you might then have airplanes, motorcycles, rutting donkeys, a rooster, or something else that disturbs. The probability of the "bad luck" one can have rises or falls with one's own interpretation of perceptions.
