because we are still entitled to a part of the parental property by will (so half of both properties in total. But only the lower property for development is being gifted now).

The positioning of the house, garage, and driveway is, to put it mildly, unfortunate. Every visitor passes by your living room. And as already noted, it will also be expensive.

Yep, that’s probably not the most elegant solution. If you have to build a basement anyway, because otherwise you will be ostracized, then build it underneath the garage and drive in directly from the street above. If it goes down that steeply (4m?), the entrance from the street just has to be on the upper floor. Paving over the garden with a mega-long driveway is nonsense.

Really, the project screams for an architect. It can turn out great with the architect or really terrible without one.

I never said it was ample! I always found it very tight and wondered why everyone says: ample, palace, etc. But whatever! It's clarified now. My mistake was to assume the complete total budget in the questionnaire. What would be (roughly estimated with your experience) a really sufficient budget? 850K? 900K? 1M?

No, we are not speculating and no, the inheritance has not yet occurred. But everything is already settled or notarized.
