So in total: the bold slanting can only be due to drugs.

What surprised me most content-wise was that someone who so vehemently wields the sword against the "replacement villas," when presented with an unorthodox alternative, doesn't even make the effort to understand its intention.

I am therefore happy to also address the supposedly "dadaistic arbitrariness of the boldly slanted wall course," and I had offered to explain the background via PM.
The architect who contributed to this design had THREE things in mind, in his boldness: 1. The wall tilted by about 30 degrees allows the dining room to be sunlit TWO hours earlier than with a right angle. 2. The sightline from the dining room to the living room is significantly expanded, covering the entire living room instead of just a small area.
3. The park view from the dining room is opened up.

You don't have to like this, you don't even have to engage with it, that is my task as the thread starter, but no one here was on drugs, and neither I nor the architect need such remarks.

Excellent, no, has unfortunately turned into a silent reader. My own posts are mostly perceived here as "whimsical but mostly useful," and I do not want to disagree. ... on the other hand I must firmly deny: in real life I am exactly the same Kölsche Jung with a Berlin accent but a standard German accent in writing. I prefer the Malmsheimer formulation "Sub_stan_zen" and waited eagerly for the (not-bmw-rear-)lighting explanation—unfortunately it has not come here yet, nor has the private message reached me. There you go—now you can understand it :-)

There you go?? “Now one can understand it?” “Substances”? “moody Kölscher Junge” as a justification for inappropriate, irrelevant and derogatory remarks that the OP and his architect are on “substances”?

How self-absorbed and out of touch with reality is someone? Nobody needs that.

No, “one” could have understood the draft much earlier, especially if one had dealt with it. A line of sight is a line of sight, and “one” recognizes it even in 2D, which the Kölscher Junge values so much.

Further comments are expressly not welcomed.

Um... no, almost exactly the same orientation, but I don’t necessarily believe our ideas are worth imitating; not least because there are two of us. Maybe the similarity lies in that we wanted to integrate both the sunny side as a terrace and the almost north side with a view of a lake into the house life. That led us to deviate from the bungalow idea because you can only see the lake from the upper floor. After much back and forth, we have now created a "second" living room upstairs and left the lower one rather smaller since it was a bit tight there anyway. Now we get a small balcony overlooking the lake to the north on the upper floor and a large south/east terrace on the ground floor. The similarity could also lie in the original idea, as our first designs were a house with a slight kink so that we could have the lake directly in front of us upstairs. After we put various roofs on it, we realized that it would look crazy bulky for us. In addition, we are building with a general contractor and despite considerable freedoms we encounter limits there. Therefore, some things are simply ruled out, which is okay for us because we want to consciously build with this general contractor. After we settled on an elongated rectangle and thus no longer subordinated everything to the lake view, many things became easier in planning. Your first pictures show a simple building form, which I really like, especially if it is longer. In your drawing, I "miss" the emphasis on living together with the aging son. By the time the house is finished, he will be 2 years older and who knows how long he will stay with you. Until then and also after that, I would rather imagine a kind of small apartment in the house for him, so that it can be represented that way if needed. If that is incorporated into the floor plan, some other things might not be possible but in return it would offer freedom for him and for you to live together in a kind of healthy distance regardless of his age. And... a small apartment (own room with shower/toilet + micro-cooking option) can still be useful in life for many things. Our children are out of the house but this separation or option would have been set for us.

So, the architectural work has continued... I am not really happy with it yet (NO, I did not initiate the tilt on the ground floor left, and I also don’t find it ideal here), but maybe you find the basic idea of a T/angle fitting, and especially the concept of “two” building volumes (horizontally wide from the street, vertical barn placed on top). There are two ground floor versions, once living room in the left wing, kitchen + dining in the “barn”, once reversed. Any criticism from anyone is welcome. Stair positioning? Bathroom 2nd floor?? V1 or V2 for the ground floor? Or V3?

In a laudation for the winner of the Posemuckeler Architecture Award one might call that a concept, but ... Al Borland, his mother, and I don’t think so, Tim :)
