Thanks! I need to let the draft sink in first. Stupid of me not to notice the staircase/roof slope issue – however, a straight staircase was not the specification, maybe it will be easier if you put a staircase with a landing at the front right? I'll try to work it through... I had also considered the idea of placing the kitchen by the utility room – that could create a lot of space and shorten the distances...

You are misunderstanding that. The staircase in your design does work. wanted to rotate the straight staircase, which is not possible.

Before I go into it, I’ll just post my floor plan, where the staircase fails.
how high is the sand-lime brick on the attic?

Why? From what I’ve read, they have 2 cars. In 6 years the teenager will have one too… I always argue for a yard that is big enough… and the north balcony, yes it is adjacent to the sauna :D

Landing is very massive…

Here are the floor plans before I delete them You can leave a comment so one can see in which direction your thinking is going. I’m not planning for myself ;)
The idea was to continue the diagonal further, so that it has a relation to the house and isn’t placed arbitrarily. You can see the entrance would be angled towards the cars (wall would have to go), the staircase and load-bearing? wall inside takes up the angled wall. Visually separated the extension as plaster, so that the barn is also visually recognizable.
The shed would be a compromise: a roof, closed with a door at the back or front, the other side just a shelter for bikes, mower, and co.
I completely forgot my open space above the dining table :D My staircase aimed to go straight up into the light, so towards the balcony. … Now I have an idea, a central landing staircase NW.
Is it worth starting with that? Later I have an online wine tasting of 6 wines, maybe I should get creative again afterwards … hehe

Then send the architect to the Museum of Modern Building Sculptures, such institutions are always looking for expert directors. Personally, I have never seen barns as middle sections in townhouses. This building sculpture strikes me more like a short lighthouse including its pedestal island - and somehow as a tribute to Libeskind and Hadid, the architect should make up her mind.

I would actually rotate it the other way around, so that the funnel entrance and parking space open towards the street and the window front adjusts more to the daily events SW :)

So, now discouraged again  If you don't like that, it's also okay!

The staircase in the attic should be extended further into the hallway.
The upper floor consists of placeholder rooms. The windows are arranged somewhat carelessly by me.
