Planting of a hornbeam hedge, bare root stock. Dirt cheap. Plant for 1.00 euro at the gardener.
Stretch the string. Along it, the man loosens the soil with the Rhenish mattock. The woman follows him with a spade and digs a trench.
Both then take a break.
After this, they set the plants and backfill the trench. Firm down a little. Break.
Mulch on top.
High five. Long break.

Bathtub with whirlpool function:
According to the recommendation here in the forum. Too loud for me to be able to bathe relaxed or those who work absolutely noiselessly, if there are any, are probably too expensive.
-> I will not miss it because I am too sensitive to noise.

Shutters:
According to the recommendation here in the forum. Regarding shutters, I probably got a bit carried away, although many houses I see, including the neighbors directly opposite, look more appealing with shutters than without. Now it will be reveals. However, we will have the (finished) house prepared for the possible later installation of shutters.
-> I will probably stop now and then in front of an attractive house with shutters, but I will not seriously miss them. When I make a decision, I live well to very well with it, otherwise I make the decision differently.

Floor-to-ceiling windows also on the upper floor:
I still find them very appealing, houses with floor-to-ceiling windows on the ground and upper floors still look great in my opinion. Now we have decided on the upper floor, among other things in favor of privacy, for "normal-sized" windows.
-> I will not miss it because we would have had to install protective grilles on the floor-to-ceiling windows, which I would then have to clean additionally.

More may be added to the cut list once I have presented the architect and surveyor plans here in the forum.

Our entire construction project started with a deletion list: We wanted to reduce our belongings. That succeeded, as we did not take at least 70% of our stuff with us into the new house. That was a healthy process and a huge relief for us.

Deletion list of wishes:

[*]We wanted to green the north side of the 27° roofs because we thought it would better fit the forest behind. After we learned about the additional cost, we crossed that out. Now there are Creaton Domino tiles on it, and we don’t miss anything.
[*]We had planned to build 4 Solarlux folding systems. We gave up on 2 — for the children’s apartments, which will only be used sporadically in a few years. They now have simple patio doors. Pretty harsh to save at the expense of the kids, right?
[*]The driveway in cobblestone would have been really nice but was painfully expensive given the paved area. So we just used gravel. Looks great and works. Maybe the cobblestones will come someday.
[*]A larger cistern would have been great but not really economical with soil class 7.
[*]Garages — they would have looked disgracefully bad or had to be built expensive in the rock. Our cars can handle weather anyway, and there are auxiliary heaters for comfort if needed (definitely cheaper). A carport for 2 cars is approved (a garage would not have been allowed there) and will be installed this year.
[*]Actually, I wanted to build a hillside elevator for loads immediately, but that’s postponed too. We manage well enough anyway due to a changed access. It will be a DIY project someday.

List of renunciations out of conviction:

    [*]Fossil energy sources
[*]Lawns and plants useless for the native nature
[*]Storage space and rarely used rooms
    [*]Unnecessarily sealed surfaces
    [*]Smart home
    [*]Controlled residential ventilation
    [*]Underfloor heating
    [*]Roller shutters and Venetian blinds

Actually, only the basement. Otherwise, we have completely avoided anything from the start that would have needlessly driven up the costs. Even during the selection process, we didn’t even look at more expensive or nicer bricks, doors, faucets, etc.
