[*]Basement (would have only become a garbage dump for us :cool
[*]Fireplace (because of dirt and work - we definitely do not regret it!)
    [*]Video intercom system
[*]KNX visualization (only when needed and as soon as a mature, simple version is available)
[*]Electric courtyard sliding gate (redesigned to have an open driveway)
    [*]Fences (instead planted hedges)
[*]Trees (prefer a large lawn area and for privacy then shrubs/perennials)
[*]Terrace roof (will be done later due to brutal heat on the terrace in summer)
[*]Stair railing (only when needed - children or old age -, because the open staircase looks nicer and is easier to clean)

Fence/privacy screen is also on our minds.
Have you been able to implement a hedge more cost-effectively? If so, in EL or by the landscaping company?

We would like a privacy screen, but at the moment we also have a hedge that, at about 20m, makes up only a fraction of the future one.
And even that we can’t manage to maintain...

The chimney was painted here. 1. no reasonable place found and 2. costs too high for (our) benefit. Furthermore, the exhaust air was eliminated. We would not have been able to accommodate the pipe or would have had to make the ceiling to the basement thicker. But for us no compromise since we do not cook every day and our controlled residential ventilation is oversized by a factor of 10.

m2 or 1 room (was intended as storage or basement replacement) which then had to be dropped due to a new plot and different plot costs. This resulted in a correspondingly different budget. Now it just has to be a larger carport or an additional tool shed

Haven't started yet, but so far these have been dropped
- Dormer in the upper floor (for the second office, which is mainly to be used as a storage room. The dormer would have given us a fantastic view into the neighbor’s interior, who is close by due to the tight development)
- Colored windows - we mostly stay inside the house, so the extra cost wasn’t worth it to us
- Fireplace. We have one in our rental apartment and rarely use it; it would have ruined our narrow floor plan
- Additional roof windows in the bedroom and bathroom. In the bedroom we are mostly in the dark anyway and in the bathroom I could have looked at the sky while bathing. Is it worth it? Especially in summer, too much heat would come in.

I think more items will be added to the cut list. Possibly the photovoltaics later or the patio roof only two years later. But we still hope to snag a bargain here and there (used paving on the terrace, B-grade vinyl on the upper floor - the manufacturer is relatively nearby and has a warehouse sale).

I’ll let myself be surprised. But even though it sounds like a lot - it’s important to us that we don’t give up anything essential. We don’t want to regret it later just because we wanted to preserve our buffer.
