For our sauna in the [UG], we have removed the shower to save costs and space.

Whirlpool in the garden was no longer an option

My personal dream

The purchase price is one thing, but heating costs 50-70€ electricity per month.
You could heat an entire house with that. Somehow, I just can't bring myself to do it.

I would have liked 300-400m2 more garden back then, but that is no longer affordable.. in 2014 it was already 80000 euros more.

Then a flat roof overhang at the children's rooms that would be used as a balcony, and 1 meter more in the kitchen. But roughly 30000-40000 euros more.

The rest were fantasies like e.g. air conditioning in all rooms, a pool, but otherwise actually very satisfied.

My personal dream

May I ask what you associate with a hot tub in the garden? We originally wanted an indoor hot tub, but canceled it because the inexpensive ones, it seems, are too loud and we don’t want to afford a “sinfully expensive” one. I’m asking you because with a hot tub in the garden, the neighbors always watch when you’re "whirling." I wouldn’t feel comfortable with that. Indoors would be great though.

Then I wouldn't want to have it outside either if everyone can look in. Ours is set up outside under the roof of the lower terrace. No neighbor can look in since our cellar level is above their roofs. Hillside location has its advantages.

Neighbors get privacy screens.

Because it is heavenly to sit in warm water, especially in the cold season. Stars overhead, snow or sleet. Warm and cold.

No comparison to indoor.
