.. also a practical idea, together with the L that I outlined above, also practical. The disadvantage with the L is that you can't extend the table endlessly, nor rotate it because of the wall. Without the L with a changed window position (because the workflows are simply better there), however, it would be too little kitchen for me.

That is correct. I notice (as you probably do too) that the process here in the forum is always the same. A builder wants a 3rd or 4th opinion and suggestions for improvement, but has already made extensive considerations (which are often questioned here) and incorporated corresponding wishes into their concept. The experienced members here in the forum then express their concerns and suggestions for improvement, which are a mixture of common sense, many years of experience, and quite a bit of personal taste. The builder usually takes some of the advice but does not fundamentally change their concept. The builder is then portrayed as resistant to advice because they insist on their wishes.

I am grateful for all suggestions and consider all of them. That does not mean that I consider every suggestion sensible for my needs and implement it.

It would not have taken two weeks to take the concerns into account. But there is still a long tail attached (finding out how exactly the dimensions should be changed, what a new kitchen concept would look like, coordination with the busy planners involved, etc.).

That is your interpretation. We dealt with it (briefly) at the time and decided against a change due to the consequences described above.

We have discussed the integration of the hallway into the living space both here in the forum and with architects and construction companies. The path from bedroom/bathroom towards the house entrance is a walkway and cannot be obstructed by anything. So far, no one has been able to explain to me exactly what the integration of the hallway would bring. Apart from that, for various reasons we do not want the bathroom door and bedroom door in the living area.

The position of the sewage is fixed, although the floor slab has not yet been poured (this should happen early next week). The energy certificate and structural engineering (the wall between living room and hallway is load-bearing) have been completed for some time.

I don’t quite understand your approach. You planned the living room with these dimensions, so why are you only now planning the arrangement of the dining table and kitchen furniture? If the living room were a bit wider and narrower instead, you could place the kitchen, dining, and living areas much better in a row, but with just over 8m that is not possible. You need at least 4m for the living area and about the same for the dining area. So you have no choice but to basically place the dining table in front of the kitchen unit or reconsider the proposal with the low wall to perhaps separate the living area a bit more. Why does the draining area of the sink necessarily have to be on the left? That doesn’t really matter, does it?

Regards Sabine
