It's quite interesting how someone makes a firm judgment based on the available information... On the topic of school subjects:

I would much prefer it if they learned how to solve problems, how to approach them, how to separate levels of abstraction from each other, how to connect contexts, how to communicate with others about it, how to involve specialists, how to come up with the right questions that can be asked purposefully... Then they are much better prepared to solve the problems that specifically come their way. I basically agree with that, but I don't know if a special subject necessarily has to be introduced for it. Actually, it would be enough to guide the students to independent thinking and to demand their own thoughts. I had a history teacher who challenged our advanced course extremely in that regard, for which I am very grateful in hindsight, even though the lessons were very exhausting.
