There are many people who have given up watching TV. My cousin and her husband as well. They do have a huge house and a lot more money than I do.....but basically no TV.....(somewhere a small one, but does it still work?).
I respect that.
As much and as often as I like to read (really a lot): I also like to just be entertained every now and then. I have no problem with that....it’s not exhausting, it’s nicely colorful.
Until the satellite system was installed back then, we also watched Sky Go and similar things on the iPad and Mac and so on...It works...but it’s not great. Especially back when the internet only spit out about 2 - 3 MBit/s from the line, if at all.
Sebastian, I got rid of the plasma TV five weeks ago. It consumed (my TV-addicted wife) about 5 kWh/day (yes per day). Since that thing is gone – I regret it because of the good picture – my electricity consumption has dropped from 15 to 10 kWh/day. When my wife was sick (broken foot) it was 18.8 kWh/day. Only the plasma. It was a heat source with a built-in TV option.
