I would make the windows with parapets in the north on the upper floor. Then, where the storage room was branched off, the window could be used for a kitchenette, so the kitchen would be along the children's room wall with a small extension in front of the window and the work island then as an L.
The hallway itself would be moved more towards the center of the house, with a storage room from the hallway on the stair wall (where the kitchen is currently drawn).
I would give the small seating area a wall (back wall of the hallway?), then overall there would be more space for the bedroom and bathroom (maybe space for a built-in wardrobe?) and the living area in L-shape would be somewhat more structured. I would place the dining table against the wall parallel to the work island.
Where should the bedroom window go? Possibly omit the south window so that a wardrobe would fit there?
It might be that I am making a mistake in thinking, unfortunately I don't have any paper at the moment to sketch it out.

Hmm ... but many things are problematic. You also can't get directly to the basement from your apartment.

On the ground floor... piano by the south window?? The kitchen is also not marked appropriately there. I would probably place the kitchen more towards the piano room.

Yvonne's idea is good in principle. Therefore, clarify whether the north window on the upper floor can have a typical kitchen worktop-height sill. But going around the corner is rather not worth it. It would make more sense to use the niche above the stairs for tall cabinet storage with a depth of 40 cm.

What do you mean by kitchen island?

You notice, I'm "painting over" the architect's plan. I can also remove it from my drawing, but I leave it in for orientation. Do I understand correctly about the kitchen and hallway? The thing with the wall for the seating area doesn't make any sense to me...

No, that is not possible. You would need a larger stairwell for that. That was not desired.

For that, I have to move the left load-bearing wall between the bedroom and living room? That only works if you do it also in the basement and ground floor.
I don't think that will be possible.
