It would be interesting to know what the lawyer advised you as the next steps.

For all 3 problems. So, a proper crane placement is taken for granted. That's why no one thought to inform you about it.

From my layman's perspective, it's hard to argue against it, since the excavation primarily took place around the house.

Interestingly, the lawyer does not see as a "problem" in your list that the excavation was done with containers instead of trucks.

He advised me to speak kindly with the structural engineer. If he does not respond to that, demand written explanations.

With 10k euros in additional costs? Hmm, I think an information is definitely warranted there.

Wow, great advice. So the money is gone. You know from our scribbling what you have to do now.

1. No support from the graduate
2. Read up on the subject
3. No execution before screening the offers
4. Give the old man a piece of your mind
5. Update the cost estimate. I bet the old items won’t be adjusted to the current prices of the construction industry in the update. Bet on it.
6. If nothing helps, pull the emergency brake

Thank you!
Can we really demand that the old architect takes over our project again? What are we supposed to do if he says he doesn't have time for it?

Everything else: understood.

We have an appointment with the old architect tomorrow afternoon. However, he has already indicated on the phone that there might be more excavation work. Oh, no. When asked about the costs, he said that they are indeed quite high. But he said that rather neutrally. We will discuss everything else in person tomorrow.

Alright then. Go for it.

10k happened; if it ends up sticking only to the 10k, you are among the few lucky ones.

However, it is also explainable after post #113, and not a matter of taste or similar, nor a service not rendered.
