Unfortunately, that won't work. On the one hand, you wouldn't get any sun from one direction, and on the other hand, you'd be too close to the street. The property dimensions are about 31x31m, although the lot gets slightly wider from north to south and then narrows towards the bottom, with the northern boundary being 31m.

That means with a 24m house length including setback areas, you'd be 5-6m from the main street, which we absolutely don't want. Additionally, we want to create a kind of privacy screen through the house from the north. I don’t want Grandma & Grandpa watching me garden all day

But basically, it's a good suggestion, which we've already laid out several times and then discarded.
