Monthly is long gone. By now, it’s quarterly. In Bavaria since (I believe 2021) standard, in NRW standard for less than €7,500 VAT per year, in Hesse generally quarterly. Other federal states similar. So it’s only 4 times a year for the three clicks now.

Actually, you are wrong there. The standard is now quarterly. I can confirm this - besides the publicly accessible information on the websites of the tax authorities that confirm my information - from my own experience. I have commissioned two systems myself in recent years (most recently last year). Quarterly was not even asked for, but was explicitly requested by the tax office. By the way, the expected amount of VAT is asked for in the questionnaire.

Hey guys, our system is now installed and the storage will follow soon. 10.5 kW fit on the roof. The storage is 10 kW in size. Anyone who is about to throw several thousand euros away by waiving the input tax deduction should rather treat themselves to a tax advisor for a fraction of that. We are talking about 12 monthly VAT filings (three clicks via Elster) in the first year and 5 annual VAT returns (four clicks via Elster) until the KUR.

If you are with the income tax assistance association, they cannot do this and you have to go to a tax advisor, which costs me 500.--€ more per year.
