...shoes upstairs are not acceptable at all. Street dirt being carried upstairs... even worse: supermarket grime!

Mh we use, like basically all parents in our circle of acquaintances, stroller, Bobby car and tricycle daily. In the garages in winter, temperatures are often around zero degrees sometimes below. I find it creepy to let the little ones onto the chilled vehicles. Honestly, I also turn on the seat heating in the car. Taking the stroller out of the basement several times a day I had enough of that long ago, I don’t need to do it anymore.

Clothing is for that.
Preheated tricycle ... well, let's leave it at that

Shoes in the changing room: those for "outfits" of course, where else. Shoes for bread-getting clothes in the wardrobe, equally clear. Kick scooter with heated seat: the world is going to ruin in style ...

well... slippers are of course allowed in the dressing room. But they are not for outside

I also have a few more special shoes that I wear once in a blue moon in the bedroom, but they have all been given their own little shelf to show off, etc. But when I put together my outfits, I take the shoes and myself into the hallway, put them on there, and stand in front of the mirror there; I don’t walk on the carpet around my bed with them. But this lady here also has 30 pairs of shoes XD, including 5 in the bedroom (all big boots), the rest are and remain in the hallway, summer and winter shoes.
I don’t feel like rearranging the shoes three times a year and bringing them to the basement or taking them out of the box, especially because it never really works anyway. I never know what the temperatures will really be like in the near future, and sometimes you need a pair that you have already stored away for the next winter season.
No, that’s too stupid for me.
Besides, you sometimes lose track of your options when everything isn’t gathered together; otherwise, I wouldn’t know what other alternatives I have XD.

I wouldn’t want to receive my guests in the office; it’s probably the messiest room in the whole apartment (okay, we also have the workbench and the rabbits are kept there, plus 2 big desks, coffee machine, and much more). We spend a lot of time there (for now) and I don’t want to tidy up after my husband (at least as long as I still work exactly as many hours as he does).
Yes, a proper cloakroom is a must, but I don’t think there should be a separate room for it. The entrance area is simply where you want to get rid of your warm clothes quickly so you don’t start sweating (at least that’s how it is for me).

You can work against that and plan the stairs far enough away from the entrance so that it doesn’t disturb or slightly separate the whole thing from the hallway to the stairs.
