I don’t know how well insulated your current house is. With Kfw 40, you simply have a very low heating demand. The water circulating through the underfloor heating is rather lukewarm. It must be similar with the fireplace. A really heavy tile stove would be ideal. I would also not choose the viewing window too large, because a lot of heat is radiated through the glass. Acquaintances made the mistake of building a panoramic fireplace (glass on three sides). It quickly becomes unbearably warm in the room. Then either ventilation is used, which of course is economically pointless, or very little wood is burned, which quickly leads to a soot-covered glass. We also informed ourselves about the fireplace and its compatibility with Kfw 40+. In our current house, we heat our living area exclusively with the fireplace. That means in winter, it is really cold without it, and you feel the need to turn on the fireplace. I think in the new house, the heating simply must not be set as high as in the other rooms, otherwise there will be no need (and no benefit) to want to turn on the fireplace.
