The L is approx. 4x2.75m - it still needed a bit of decoration/shelves/lamps.

More important than appliances is actually the layout. You can get as fancy as you want and cram in all kinds of silly corners & edges, counters, jalousie cabinets, and whatever else. I would try to avoid that - it makes things easier and saves money. The same basically goes for the appliances: prefer as few as possible, but good ones. At least I don’t need steam ovens, built-in coffee machines, plate warmers, icemakers, etc... cooktop, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher are enough for us.

Our only luxury is a Quooker and a high-quality and durable countertop (ceramic). I find both great and enjoy them every day. By the way, I’m enthusiastic about our 60cm Blanco Etagon sink - really great.

You have to live with that ;) Function over form in this case. But in the end, it is from a manufacturer - BSH (no matter if the label is Neff, Bosch, or Siemens). The compact oven absolutely needed the microwave function.

I can report from Ikea: I have 6.4 running meters of kitchen for about 10,000 euros (including external installer and some new and some used appliances) and 2 solid wood countertops. Everything works as it should. It was a rather expensive, but not the most expensive front from Ikea (Kungsbacka anthracite).

Also here IKEA white lacquer with the thick, white countertop with aluminum edge. We still like it, have already moved twice with it. Cabinets etc. assembled ourselves, which is very easy, appliances bought ourselves, then the already known craftsman from the internet who assembled everything for €300.-; he is very fast at it, the two already know each other.
